Rahman is keen to help train the next generation of chefs and home cooks, focusing on new food trends such as healthy eating and using local produce, using using less oil and ghee and utilising natural colour such as beetroot and turmeric.
Excellent selection of Bangldeshi river fish and vegetarian options, largely supplied from Brick Lane Fish & Meat Bazaar across the street.
Originally opened in 1997 as ‘Gram Bangla’, it closed in 2016 but reopened under new ownership with and a modified spelling in 2019.
Try the Borta (small balls of rolled fish and vegetables) for £2.25.
Recommended mains are the Boal with Misi; Chital Maas; Roop Chanda; Chital Kofta and Rohu Fish Fry.
