Asian Curry Awards shortlist announced

The Asian Catering Federation’s (ACF) has announced its ‘shortlist’ of chefs, restaurants and takeaways for this year’s Asian Currty Awards.

The 213-strong list includes nominees from around the country:

Last year 46 awards presented. They included Asian Chef of the Year, Curry King, and Lifetime Achievement and Legacy Awards presented to those who deserve worthy recognition for their charity work and their commitment to improving the standards within the industry.

Award categories include:

Fine Dining, Casual Dining, Event Caterer, Restaurant Group, International Restaurant, Nepalese Restaurant of the Year, Thai Restaurant, Japanese Restaurant of the Year, Chinese, Street Food, Newcomer, Takeaway of The Year

The Asian Curry Awards are open the complete range of Asian and Oriental cuisines: Bangladeshi, Burmese, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Middle Eastern, Pakistani, Singaporean, Sri Lankan, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.

Chairman of the Asian Catering Federation Yawar Khan said: “Alongside the excellent cuisine we champion with these awards, we also take time to celebrate the achievements of individuals and recognise the generous contributions they make to their communities through their charitable giving and their time.”

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner hosted by BBC news anchor Samantha Simmonds, on Sunday 15th November at Grosvenor House in Mayfair in London.
