New multi-brand franchise group PBV is planning 30 new sites in the next five years, with three already secured for flagship brand Shah’s Halal Food.
Shah’s, which has grown to 77 locations since launching in the UK from the US in 2020, is joined in the group by fellow quick service restaurant (QSR) brands Smashville, Bunify, Tikka Nation and Pizza 1889.
Halal comfort food brand Bunify has five sites in London and Indian street food concept Tikka Nation has 11 sites across the UK.
Leading the group is Paolo Peretti, former managing director of Patisserie Valerie and AMT Coffee, Tikka Nation founder Vikas Narula and finance specialist Bilal Zaman. They is already operating three dark kitchens in London and three store locations have been secured in Dorking, Ruislip and Bradford, which will all operate as Shah’s. A fourth location has also been secured in Finchley, north London, and will operate as a Tikka Nation, and the group is also in negotiations for a further three sites which it hopes to open this year.
Peretti said: “Our target is to have 30 franchise sites across multiple brands within the next five years, and we believe we have a clear, structured roadmap to get there. The latest new openings in London are part of a much bigger plan to roll out more sites across the country.”
Zaman said: “QSR is competitive, but more importantly, it is a thriving sector, and that’s down to the shift in consumer behaviour. Lunch breaks are now shorter, the expectations of speed are much higher and technology is expanding the market every year.”
Narula added: “PBV Group has been created with a singular focus – to become one of the UK’s leading multi-brand franchise groups in the QSR space.”
