A number of Nepali restaurateurs in the UK have announced fundraising initiatives to raise cash for vistims of the deadly flash floods in their home country, which may have killed thousands and left many more homeless.
Everest Inn in Greenwich, in South London, is hosting a special fundraising event on Monday 7th September. Restaurateur Yadav Bhanari is donating the full cost of £55 set price meal, raffle tickets and all other takings, with no deductions. The evening includes welome drinks and canapés, authentic Nepali buffet, and deserts. Proceeds will go to the Prime Minister of Nepal’s Disaster Relief Fund. https://everestinn.co.uk/blackheath
Gurkha Spicy, Carlisle is raising money for following flash floods that struck the country on Wednesday, 2nd September.
Owner-chef Shiva Pathak, whose family all live in Nepal is donating an entire week’s profits to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund of Nepal to support families affected by recent disasters.
Gurkha Kitchen in Nottingham has donated £1000 to PMO Nepal, in addition to the £875 raised by customers
Sharma Hem, the owner Balti Curries in Falmouth, Cornwall, centre and encouraged by people in Cornwall offering their support, and is planning a number of charity lunches in aid of the Shelterbox disater relief charity.
Hem said of his customers: “It is very sad time for the Nepal, how they’re supporting at the moment is amazing – the Cornwall people always help in any charity I’m doing.”
