US pop-up for Kricket

Kricket is to become the latest UK Indian restaurant to have a US residency, indicating to a possible permanent move for the concept.

The brand, founded by Will Bowlby and Rik Campbell, is running a two-night pop-up at Comal restaurant in New York on 6th and 7th October, serving a menu of Kricket dishes created in collaboration with the Lower East Side Mexican restaurant.

A set menu will be available for $90 per guest plus tax and service for the meal, which will mark Kricket’s first appearance on the New York dining scene.

Bowlby and Campbell are on record as saying said that future expansion would likely involve moving internationally, with the US a potential target.

“Indian food outside of India is at its best here in the UK when you compare it to another city in the world – London does it the best, but there is a desire for better Indian restaurants in many other cities ” said Bowlby, adding, “There are opportunities in the Middle East and New York is also a really interesting but scary prospect.”
