Arup Dasgupta wins Asian & Oriental Chef title

Arup Dasgupta has been revealed as the Asian & Oriental Chef of the Year, following a live cook off organised by the Asian Catering Ferderation.

Chef Dasgusta, a private chef who operates Euphoria by Chef Arup in Kent, was revealed as this year’s winner by BBC news anchor Samantha Simmonds at House of Lords yesterday on 17th July, hosted by Lord Kamall.

This year’s runner up was Chef Ravindra Singh Rawat from Namak Restaurant in South Woodford, and the finalists, who were presented with regional awards were: Alex Boyd (Kumquat in Tunbridge Wells), Arjun Khanal (Chor Baazaar in Slough), Chef Jamal Uddin Ahmed (Humayra in Sittingbourne), Purusan Malla (Panas Gurkha in Blackheath), and Ellen Rahman and Chef Rozario (Gateway of India in Cardiff).
