Bandkook set to open in Cheltenham

Bandook, which has sites in Bristol and Bath, is to expand by taking over the former ASK location in the Montpellier area pf Cheltenham. Ask closed suddenly in September last year for “operational reasons”.

Bandook hopes to be up and running in time to cater for thousands of racing fans pouring into the town for the annual National Hunt racing festival.

Bandook’s owner, Moe Rahman, said: “I had been scouting for a third site and in particular in Cheltenham for a while and then when this current site came up, I just couldn’t resist the opportunity.

“Cheltenham is such a pretty and distinctive town and our location for the new Bandook is ideally placed in the eye-catching Montpellier area.”

It will serve 120 covers in the main dining room and another 16 in a private dining room.

Bandook has been talking up its plans on its social media: “We are excited and ready for the next wonderful step in our journey of great regional Indian sharing plates, innovative tipples and always friendly service.”

It added that its mission is to “spice up the culinary landscape of Cheltenham” by offering Indian street food classics but “with a twist”.
